Students attending CAI are required to receive all mandated screenings, exams and vaccinations as required by law.
Medication Guidelines
When an illness is serious enough to warrant the administration of medication, the parent of guardian should make every attempt to administer the medication before or after school hours. If it becomes necessary for prescribed and/or over-the-counter medication to be given during school hours, a medication authorization form from the prescribing doctor or dentist shall be required. Additionally, the medication must be brought into school by a parent/guardian and must be labeled with the following information:
The procedure is the same for controlled substance medications (i.e. Adderall, Concerta, Ritalin, etc.). All medication will need to be picked up at the end of the school year by a parent/guardian.

Mandated Screenings
Pennsylvania Public School Code of 1949, Section 1402(a)* states "Each child of school age shall be given by methods established by the Advisory Health Board, (I) a vision test by a school nurse, medical technician or teacher, (2) a hearing test by a school nurse or medical technician, (3) a measurement of height and weight by a school nurse or teacher and (4) such other tests as the Advisory Health Board may deem advisable to protect the health of the child. Vision tests shall be given at least annually and other tests at intervals established by the Advisory Health Board."
